Yatri Festival 2015Yatri was founded in 1979 to provide wholesome and meaningful entertainment to the theatre audience. In the last 33 years, Yatri has been successful upholding the glory of Hindi theatre with its core values.

It has many highlights to its career:

 Production of 65 full-length plays

 5500 + shows till date

 30 annual Festivals at Prithvi Theatre, Juhu. imparting training to 500 +      aspiring actors

 30 Theatre Workshops conducted for both adults and children

 6 plays aimed specially at children, a new genre started by Yatri with      immensely popular plays like Laddoo Gopal, Nakchadi, Chandu ki Chachi,      Mummy Please!, Dadaji kahien and forthcoming play, Chulbul

 10 running plays around the year.

Several new initiatives have been launched by Yatri in the last five years. A few of them are

 A 70 day production-oriented theatre workshop, followed by the staging of      the production 'Hey Bhagwan'

 An English play produced for the first time for Writer's Bloc festival organized by      the British Council, Mumbai.

 A new concept introduced to promote products/services through the medium of theatre. This has been used both for launching      new brands, as well as promoting existing brands. This is a revolutionary new approach to marketing consumer brands, and has      been a runaway success. Some examples are:
  • Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) - 3 product launches, `E.X`. (The first user-friendly Accounting software in India; R-TWO, a project management software, and Success Planned, a follow-up and tracking software.

  • Existing brand promotion for Power Cable - Universal Cables Ltd.

  • The "Shoppers' Stop' brand was promoted all-India through a short play within the store.

 'Excuse Me Boss' - a first-of-its-kind short play based on cartoons of internationally acclaimed management cartoonist
     Mr. Prriya Raj, staged at Planet M, Mumbai.

 A Tribute on play wrights'- a new concept with 50 minutes presentation from best scene of the plays.The first tribute to Jayawant      Dalvi was staged at Oxford Book Store, Mumbai.

 In addition, over the past several years, Yatri has been invited to produce plays for Prithvi Festival, which is one of India's most      prestigious Theatre Festivals.
